Sensor Clima XL comes to life with the aim of responding to COOP’s needs, with our experience in developing technologies.
COOP needed a trusted partner to work with, to bring in its cold chain a cutting-edge device, able to guarantee the quality of perishable food products during transportation.
THE CHALLENGE

COOP was looking for a reliable partner capable of statisfying specific needs and creating a useful and functional product.
The requestes were clear: the device had to guarantee optimal functioning without frequent mantenance, meet safety standards, be resistant to withstand the impacts and shocks typical of transporting food products and finally, a battery that, once consumed, would not make the device unusable.
WHAT WE DID
Sensor Clima XL Developing
We started the developing phase with the scope to tailor a device capable of meeting the charateristics that COOP had requested.
First of all we dealt with the software development: the device had to start monitoring the temperature without too much human-effort.
We equipped the device with a cable, which, once inserted into the port, would give the start monitoring input, until the device itself was turned off. Equipped with LORAWAN connectivity, it is able to send the data collected directly and securely.
To avoid the maintenance of a possible battery change, we have designed a wireless charger, convenient and easy to use to guarantee durability of the device over time.
THE RESULTS
Sensor Clima XL Functionality
Combining our project and COOP’s requests, we developed Sensor Clima XL.
The device is designed to detect and monitor temeprature fluctuation during the storage and transport of goods such as vegetables and other temperature-sensitive food items, integrated with LoRaWAN connectivity.
Sensor Clima XL includes:
- an enhanced battery capacity and a wireless charger
- robust housing, desgined to withstand shocks
- advanced analytics
Thank to Gimasi and their IoT sensor, we digitise and monitor entire cold chains as the system first our requirements for multiple use cases

Fresh and Frozen Food
Once put in the basket, the SensorClima XL is used to monitor the temperature variation during the transport of fresh or frozen food. It’s necessary to guarantee the quality of the food before selling it in the supermarket.
