How Sensor Clima IOT works
Sensor Clima IoT continuously measures environmental parameters such as temperature and humidity. It transmits these readings via NB‑IoT/LTE‑M to the Cloud Platform, where data is visualized, analyzed, and archived. As a result, operators can monitor conditions in real time and respond to threshold breaches with confidence.
Furthermore, the device’s low‑power design ensures long battery life and reliable performance in demanding logistics and industrial settings.

In cold chain logistics, temperature control is critical. The Sensor Clima IoT sensor provides real-time environmental tracking, data visibility, and automated alerts to protect temperature-sensitive goods throughout storage and transit.

THE CHALLENGE
Project Criticals
COOP was looking for a reliable partner capable of statisfying specific needs and creating a useful and functional product.
The requestes were clear: the device had to guarantee E2E temperature monitoring, had to interface with the customer own cloud system, guarantee total authomaitzaton to avoid human errors, high measurement accurancy and no data loss.
Furthermre, it needed a long battery life and a remote transfer of temperature data.
WHAT WE DID
Sensor Clima Development
We started the developing phase with the scope to tailor a device capable of meeting the charateristics that COOP had requested.
Software development:
The Sensor Clima is engineered for reliable, E2E cold chain supervision. Equipped with a long life battery and LoRaWAN connectivity, Sensor Clima enables remote transmission of temperature data, with minimal maintenance.
It detects critical temperature variations, often caused by prolonged door openings or accidental shoutdowns.
THE RESULTS
Sensor Clima Functionality
Combining our project and our client’s requests, we developed Sensor Clima.
The device is designed for monitoring enviromental temperature conditions.
Sensor Clima includes:
- high precision sensor
- wireless data transmission (LoRaWAN connectivity)
- Compact design, easy to install in various enviroments.
As requested, Sensor Clima is useful for monitoring the cold chain: the device records the temperature of a a freezer or a supermarket refrigerated tub. When the temperature exceeds the indicated threshold, the device sends an alarm and the person in charge will take action to solve the problem.
More than "just" Temperature
Sensor Clima can also been installed on cold room doors to monitor openings and closings, ensuring stable temperature conditions. When paired with an external magnetic sensor and properly configured, it accurately detects door activity, helping maintain consistent temperature control inside the room.
Thanks to Gimasi and their IoT Sensor, we are able to digitize and monitor the entire cold chain, as the system meets our requirements across multiple use cases.

Applications
Supermarket Fridges
Coop uses Sensor Clima to monitor cold tubs and fridges, which, placed at the right height, monitors the temperature inside the fridge. If the doors remain open long enough to cause a temperature change, the sensor is programmed to alert the staff.
Cold Rooms
Cold rooms are “the warehouse” of supermarkets for perishable products. Sensor Clima records the opening, closing and opening time of the cell door. In this way it is possible to check the history and verify any temperature variations. Or send a notification in case of prolonged opening.

Anti-Tampering Bracket
Sensor Clima’s barcket is designed for effortless installation, allowing you to securely fix it to any surface using particularly strong adhesives.
The design of the bracket includes small magnets that are detected by The Sensor, ensuring a reliable and tamper-proof setup. If the sensor is removed or tampered with from its position, an alarm can be instantly signaled, providing you with an added layer of security and peace of mind.
External TOF Sensor
Sensor Clima’s TOF sensor is designed to seamlessly connect through a jack 3.5mm auxiliary port, enhancing the functionality of The Sensor.
This add-on enables precise distance detection of objects from its sensing source, allowing for even more accurate and comprehensive monitoring capabilities.
External Temperature Sensor
With the Sensor Clima’s External Temperature Sensor, you can enhance your monitoring system by incorporating data from multiple sources.
